About Us
Our Mission

LDS Test and Measurement provides Product Validation Solutions for use in the aerospace, defence, automotive, machinery, electrical and electronics markets. Using our solutions at the design and test phase, customers can prove product integrity, improving the reliability, safety, durability and efficiency of products.
Our Company
With 230 employees, LDS is an international company with its headquarters in Royston, Hertfordshire and research and development sites located around the world.
Our Products
LDS’s electro-dynamic shaker and control systems provide comprehensive testing capabilities. From products such as small hand-held PDAs to a satellite, our solutions are designed to perform the most demanding tests.
Our Values
Product performance and quality has always been a fundamental value at LDS, but perhaps just as important to us is the dedication of our long serving employees. We believe it’s this combination that explains why many of our valued customer relationships have spanned so many decades and what differentiates us from our competitors.
Our History
Even as far back as the 1930s our engineers were designing innovative solutions, including a Sound Reinforcement Systems later used in St. Paul's Cathedral and Wembley Stadium, and the World’s first Pressurized-Ink Recorder that played a key role in the first heart transplant and man’s landing on the moon.
In 2008, Spectris plc acquired LDS Test & Measurement from SPX Corporation. This acquisition has enabled us to provide customers with a complete test system for both structural analysis and vibration testing. A few years earlier LDS completed a number of acquisitions including Dactron Inc and Gould-Nicolet, significantly expanding our portfolio to include vibration controllers and dynamic signal analyzers.
Commitment for the Future
Our roots are the foundation for future growth and we are committed to product development and providing innovative market-leading product validation solutions.
The Nicolet brand is owned by Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. Corporation.
