Our Company

Living the Spirit of Diversity
As a global player with its main roots in England, Holland, California and Wisconsin, we truly live the spirit of diversity.  Even though our 300 employees are organized in local “Competency Centres” – they can work on a single project with colleagues who are 10000 miles away.  True - with China going to sleep while America gets ready to rise - internal communication can be a challenge at times.  However, this sort of diversity brings us much closer to our customers and their markets – which is what we live for.

Four Well-Focused Design Centers

We do not believe in a centralized top down approach when it comes to designing our next generation of solutions, which is why we run four separate design teams, each of which has its own special talents.  Our exciting young team in Fremont, California, has designed some of the world's finest Vibration Controllers and Real Time Signal Analyzers.  Our team in Middleton, Wisconsin, specializes in rugged, portable Data Acquisition Systems and versatile Signal Conditioners, while our engineers at Dongen, The Netherlands, focuses on Graphical User Interface Software, High Speed Data Acquisition and Fiber Isolated Digitizers.  Our biggest team is based in Royston, UK, and designs our traditional Electrodynamic Shakers, Slip Tables and Switching Power Amplifiers, which together account for approximately 60% of our business.

Two Specialized Manufacturing Locations
All our measurement instruments have one thing in common: they use similar components and are software driven.  This is why we manufacture them all at one plant in Wisconsin – the home of former Nicolet business.  We take the same approach for the “heavy metal” part of our business – our Shaker Systems, Combos and Power Amplifiers, which are all manufactured and tested, as they have been for the past 50 years, at our plant in Royston, UK.  To meet the continued growth in this business, we will be moving to a new purpose built facility in Royston.

Five Direct LDS Sales & Service Organizations
Currently LDS has direct sales and service activities located in the US, UK, France, Germany and China as well as distributors and representatives in more than 50 countries worldwide.  We train your people to become experts in less time, as well as maintain and calibrate your equipment locally to ensure that you get the maximum return from your investment over its lifetime.
